Dear Santa:

It’s me, the plant geek! I have a few plants left that I haven’t been able to find, so perhaps you and the elves might have a better chance. You might have to make a trip to China between now and the 24th, but with that magic sleigh of yours, and Rudolph to boot!

Just look at those mottled leaves Santa. And those spidery blooms!

Cypripedium ventricosum

I need help Santa! It started with C. reginae, then I added C. japonicum var. formosanum, and now this one sneaks into my affections!

Arisaema triphyllum ‘Black Jack’

This was the first genus I learned about as a child. I’m very excited about four new ones that I’m going to sell at work next year, but this one remains frustratingly elusive!

 

Oh, and one more thing Santa…..

The ‘kids’ are getting nervous with the lack of snow! They want to know if you’ll send some ahead of time, or at least bring some with you when you come. They’re missing their insulating blanket of white!

Peace and goodwill among humankind would also be appreciated if you can spare it!
